Sultan, Gold Bar, Index, Skykomish, Stevens Pass

Stevens Pass Greenway is a designated National Scenic Byway following the Great Northern Railway’s Iron Goat Trail and the thundering Skykomish and Wenatchee Rivers. Several small, rustic towns (Sultan, Gold Bar, Index and Skykomish) offer extensive hiking, white water rafting, waterfall viewing, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife watching opportunities.

Sultan’s Osprey Park provides easy access to nature trails and fish habitat. Gold Bar is home to breath-taking Wallace Falls. Index is a wildly popular jumping off point for whitewater rafting on the Skykomish, and world-class rock climbing on the Index town wall. Skykomish is an historic railway community, home to a park in the center of town featuring a restored 1898 Great Northern Railway depot and steam trainride. It’s also and popular stop with PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) hikers. Stevens Pass Ski Resort, located on the summit, offers skiing, snowboarding and cross-country fun for all abilities during the winter, and mountain biking during the summer.
